Welcome to Vandenberg Middle School.  The counselors at Vandenberg Middle School are dedicated in building success for the students, staff and parent community.  The counseling department works with students on an individual basis, as well as, in group settings.  The VMS Counseling Department is a member of the national organization of ASCA (American School Counselor Association) and CASC (California Association of California School Counselors).  The counseling department has built its program in accordance with the National Standards set forth by ASCA.  The counselors work with ALL students in promoting career, personal and social, and academic growth. The “Counselor Chats” are well-liked by the students and staff which allows the counselors to see ALL students and deliver guidance lessons.  The 7th graders receive curriculum in personal/social and academic development.  This curriculum is articulated with the school wide BEST (Building Effective Schools Together) program.  The 8th graders receive curriculum in Career Education which is articulated with Cabrillo High School.
If the Counseling Department can be of any service, please don't hestitate to call 742-2710.
