Mission Statement

The Vandenberg Middle School community provides students the opportunity to reach their highest level of personal well-being and intellectual independence by creating a safe learning environment that empowers students to become responsible and productive as contributing individuals in our changing world.

We envision a Vandenberg Middle School where

Students come first on a campus that

provides a caring environment

has high expectations for achievement and conduct of all members of the school community

accommodates individual needs in a timely manner

All students and staff learn through access to

interdisciplinary experiences

current technology and on-going training in the use of that technology

extra curricular and professional development opportunities

Communication among all members of the campus community is promoted through

formal process for staff communication/idea sharing

ongoing opportunities for students to exhibit communication skills

active parental participation in the education process

extended community involvement: a VMS-VAFB connection and community service

continual articulation and coordination with LUSD elementary and secondary schools

Our campus environment accommodates the needs of our population by

fostering school pride

providing a clean, safe campus

maintaining well designed and arranged classrooms

promoting an on-going beautification program

There is support for implementing programs, schedules and calendars most beneficial for our progress.
